Hi team, 

I am working in data cloud implementation and need to migrate the changes from one org to another. Can we use the sf cli for the retrieval/deployment of the metadata components and other related components? 

 

Please suggest the way to setup CICD for the data cloud.

Salesforce Salesforce Java Script Developer 1 exam was suspended

My JS1 certification got suspended  while I was entering the exam and I got the below response from Kryterion, 

After i installed LockDownBrowserOEMSetupapplication.  

The staff at webassessor end helped me adjust the exam times twice.  

When I went in again, I did nothing but suddenly stopped my exam.  

I didn't receive any warning. Even worse, I didn't see the question and was forced to quit the exam. 

 

"Your exam has been suspended. We are unable to effectively and properly proctor your exam due to your failure to meet certain behavioral or environmental requirements identified by the test sponsor. You have been alerted of behaviors or testing environment infractions that inhibit effective proctoring and you have acknowledged these alerts. The permissible limit of alerts set by the test sponsor has been reached. For this reason, you may not continue your exam. Your responses received up to this point will be reviewed or submitted and your test sponsor will notify you of the final results, if applicable." To be honest I didn't do any malpractices during the exam. i showed test area and room clearly.  

 

I have already opened a case with the trailhead support team. Case no. #470809290 but no response yet. 

 

This very much disheartening to see this happing after putting a lot of efforts to prepare for the exam.  

 

I sincerely request the team to look into my case and suggest further steps to reschedule my exam at the earliest possible. 

 

Hoping to hear back soon.

    I also experienced the same thing, my certification exam was suspended several times until I couldn't continue my exam, I've waited 24 hours but Salesforce hasn't given me any feedback or contacted me.

Flow Approval Process, Approver notification is not working

Hi Guys, 

 

I'm using salesforce recently released flow approval process, in which we have option to send custom notification to approver. I configured all required configuration still I'm not able to get the email notification as a approver. Could anyone please suggest if I've missed anything to configure.

    Hi there! 

     

    The error "app name 'Travel App' couldn't find" almost always points to one of two things: 

     

    1. Exact Name Mismatch:
      • Go to Setup in your org.
      • In the Quick Find box, type "App Manager" and select it.
      • Carefully scroll through the list of Lightning Apps.
      • Verify the App's API Name and Label are exactly "Travel App" (case-sensitive, including spaces), as specified in the Trailhead module. Even a single extra space or a lowercase 't' can cause this error.
    2. App Visibility:
      • While in the App Manager, click the down arrow next to your "Travel App" and select "Edit."
      • Navigate to the "User Profiles" section.
      • Ensure the profile you are using for verification (or the specific profile mentioned in the Superbadge/module requirements) is selected and visible for the app. Sometimes, it's missed, making the app inaccessible to the verifier.

My exam was suspended. Please help how can I reschedule the exam. Raised support case also #01120553

Hi Team,

 

I was taking my Salesforce Marketing Cloud consultant examination on 30th Jan 2024. After 1 hour of taking the test, I got a warning on the screen with no mention about any specific details. My test got resumed. After a minute or so the examiner asked me to show the surrounding ( the walls, desk etc ) . I followed their instructions and showed them the whole room. I had a couple of necessary items on my desk like the Government ID cards for verification purposes and car keys. 

 

I myself reached out to Kryterion support team, and they reverted back with the following message.

 

Kryterion support: Your exam has been suspended. It is very sad to see the above response as there was just 1 warning from support guy and that too it was not clear. 

 

Getting this certification is really important for my job and career as I am going to embark on a new journey with salesforce. I have put my heart and soul in the preparation. Getting kicked out in the middle of taking test without proper response and that too when I have already answered all the questions is really disheartening. 

 

I sincerely request the team to look into my case and suggest further steps to reschedule my exam at the earliest possible.

 

If you want me to reappear then please provide the voucher soon because my company wanted me to get this certification by end of January.

I’m trying to enable inline editing in a Lightning report for a specific user

Hi all, I need help regarding field-level permissions and inline editing in reports on Salesforce.

I have a user named OBD, whose profile is CSSD, and this profile has Read-Only access to the Quote object.

I want this specific user to be able to edit the Competency__c field on Quote records.

I’ve already created a Permission Set that grants Read and Edit access to the Quote object, and Edit access to the Competency__c field, and I’ve assigned it to the user.

The goal is to allow this user to edit the field directly from a report using the "Enable Editing" feature in Lightning reports.

However, when I log in as OBD, the field is still read-only in the report and cannot be edited.

Is there anything I might be missing to make inline editing in reports

 work for this specific user?

    Here's what you might be missing to make inline editing work for your user OBD:

    1. Profile's Object Permissions (Crucial Check): While the Permission Set grants 'Edit' access to the Quote object, the Profile (CSSD) has 'Read-Only'. In some scenarios, especially with inline editing, the profile's baseline object permissions can still create a roadblock. Ensure the 'Edit' permission for the Quote object is also enabled on the CSSD profile itself, or at minimum, verify the Permission Set is configured to override profile restrictions effectively for this specific use case.
    2. Page Layout Assignment: The Competency__c field must not only be editable via Field-Level Security but also be present and editable on the Page Layout assigned to the CSSD profile for the Quote object. Inline editing inherits its behavior from the page layout's field properties.
    3. Record-Level Access: Confirm that user OBD has edit access to the specific Quote records they are trying to modify. This is governed by Organization-Wide Defaults (OWD), Role Hierarchy, and Sharing Rules. Even with FLS and object permissions, if they don't own or aren't shared the record with edit access, it won't work.
    4. Field Type Compatibility: While Competency__c sounds like a picklist (which is generally inline editable), confirm it's not a field type that's not supported for inline editing in reports (e.g., long text area, rich text area, encrypted fields, system fields).
