    Hi @Mark Ellis

Teams are using AI-driven  SMS  and WhatsApp messaging in Salesforce to speed up lead response times by automating replies, personalizing messages with customer data, and sending instant notifications. Tools like chatbots handle common queries 24/7 while triggering timely follow-ups. Platforms like Message Blink and Lead Manager Ninja integrate with Salesforce to log conversations, prioritize hot leads, and suggest responses, cutting response time and boosting conversions. Testing in the sandbox first helps ensure it works smoothly for your team.

We are using salesforce lightning and I cannot get merge fields to work in the subject line of email templates. Anyone know how to make these work?

I know this is a basic question, but I'm not a coder and can't figure it out from the questions answered here.  I just want to reference Case fields in the subject line on my email template.  Can you please help me figure out how to do that?

Also, the replies from our customers aren't appearing in SalesForce.  Is that just because we need to add the {{{Case.Thread.ID}}} to the body of the email template and subject line?

Thank you for your help!

I would try to copy the merge field into the subject line and send a test email. It works that way in Classic.

I am currently working on creating a managed package for an agent that was created using Agentforce. I need assistance with the process of creating a 1GP (First Generation Package) or 2GP (Second Generation Package). Specifically, I am looking for guidance on how to compile or create the package.xml file and any other necessary steps to successfully submit the package.

    Hi @Manvi Jain

Salesforce has first-generation managed packaging (managed 1GP) and second-generation managed packaging (managed 2GP). Going forward we recommend that everyone use managed 2GP, which is what we describe in this module.

The following is a complete guide to help you with the same :

    https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/second-generation-managed-packages/learn-about-secondgeneration-managed-packaging

To create a 2GP Managed Package:

    1. Set up Salesforce DX.
    2. Define a namespace for the package.
    3. Create your components (Apex, Custom Objects, etc.).
    4. Generate the package.xml file and include all the necessary components.
    5. Create and version the package using Salesforce CLI.
    6. Test the package in a scratch org and deploy to a sandbox.
    7. Submit the package through the AppExchange Partner Portal.

I hope you find this information helpful.

    Hello @Una Egan

The 'Manage CRM Analytics Subscription' permission you specific to CRM Analytics and likely won't apply to standard report subscription, which could explain why it's blocked due to license restrictions. Follow the steps below for that-

    1. Check the manager has 'View All Data' or 'View Setup and Configuration' permission as they are needed to see subscription details in Setup>Scheduled Jobs.

    2. Confirm the manager's license support for report management. Some licenses limit access to subscription visibility.

3 .Go to Setup>Scheduled Jobs. If the manager can't see this, the issue is likely a permission or license mismatch.

    4. Create a permission set with 'Scheduled Report 'and 'View' Setup and 'Configuration'Thenn assign it to the manager.

Hi Expert,

We have a requirement to set up the In-Kind Gift process in Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC). While going through the documentation, I noticed the following steps:

  1. First, create a Gift Commitment.
  2. Then, create a non-recurring Commitment Schedule under it.
  3. Within that schedule, create a Gift Transaction with the status set to Unpaid.
  4. Once the gift is received, update the Gift Transaction status to Paid and set the Payment Method as In-Kind.

Could you please confirm if this process is correct for recording In-Kind Gifts in Salesforce NPC?

Also, I have a few questions:

  • Is it mandatory to create a Gift Commitment for In-Kind Gifts?
  • Can we directly create a Gift Transaction, add custom fields for In-Kind Gift details, set the Payment Method as In-Kind, and mark the status as Paid?
  • Is it acceptable to only create a Gift Commitment without a schedule and transaction, just for tracking the In-Kind Gift?

Please help me understand the best practice for capturing In-Kind Gifts in NPC.
