Hi Experts,
- We have a requirement to set up the NPC Grants Management Portal in an org that is already using the NPSP managed package.
- I’d like to understand the limitations, compatibility considerations, and best practices for configuring NPC Grants Management alongside NPSP.
Could anyone please guide me on this? I’m looking to gain better clarity on the setup and potential challenges.

You're not going to like this answer @Manjula Rajaram - don't do it. lol
Unless things have changed dramatically, which I doubt, the official advice is to NOT have NPSP and Nonprofit Cloud running in the same org. [Anyone else
@Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking @Nonprofit Cloud
please check me on that if that's not true anymore.]
Because grantmaking requires nonprofit cloud (and all the nonprofit cloud and industry common components that come with it), the person account model conflicts with the household model (and households are managed completely differently in nonprofit cloud too). If you plan on never using person accounts or turning on any of the other features that use person accounts and party model group, maybe. But why get nonprofit cloud then?
Can we first backup and explore WHY you want to implement grantmaking, especially alongside NPSP? Is this a passthrough funder, a research thinktank that gives subgrants, a community foundation, etc.? Do teams have a reporting requirement to their funders of how their subgrantees' funding is being used? What are y'all currently using for tracking outbound grant applications and awards?
If you're looking for a simple way to track outbound grant giving, I would recommend outbound funds or do a very thorough needs evaluation to get a new NPC grantmaking org and then plan out a roadmap to also move all of your NPSP stuff over someday IF they have to be in the same org.
@Judi Sohn - I think this would def be a good topic for the OSC Best Practices team (which I'm happy to take lead on developing). cc: @Tobias Ward
